ABOUT HGT SEED SERVICES

A stronger starting point
for commercial crops

HGT Seed Services supports commercial planting-seed pathways for industrial hemp, sesame and selected emerging crops. Our focus connects seed multiplication planning, quality assurance coordination, identity preservation, certification support and seed supply systems.

As an HGT Investment Group business, we work alongside HEMPGenTech and Sesame Australia to connect genetics with practical seed requirements, production planning and destination markets.

Our vision

Reliable, traceable planting seed systems that support the long-term development of emerging crop industries.

Our mission

Connect suitable genetics, disciplined multiplication, quality information and commercial coordination so growers and partners can plan with greater confidence.

SEED SERVICES

From planting seed enquiries to planned supply

A seed requirement starts with the crop, location, intended product and sowing window. We bring the relevant seed, quality and documentation considerations into one commercial discussion.

Planting seed enquiries

Discuss crop and variety selection, indicative quantities, planting area and delivery timing for industrial hemp, sesame and selected emerging crops.

Submit a seed enquiry

Seed multiplication planning

Assess source material, production location, isolation, timing, target volume and responsibilities. Plan identity preservation and chain of custody through the multiplication program.

Discuss a multiplication program

Quality assurance coordination

Coordinate appropriate sampling and seed testing through relevant providers, including germination, physical purity and other tests required for the crop or destination.

Explore seed quality support

Traceability & documentation

Support seed-lot identification, source and multiplication records, movement documentation and the connection between a physical lot and its testing information.

Understand the seed-lot pathway

Seed catalogue access

Request planting seed information relevant to your crop, region and intended production system. Catalogue access supports a focused discussion of suitability and supply requirements.

Request the seed catalogue

International seed enquiries

Discuss destination requirements, documentation, delivery timing and counterpart responsibilities as part of an agreed international planting-seed pathway.

QUALITY & TRACEABILITY

Confidence begins with the seed lot

The variety and the condition of the planting seed answer different questions. A useful quality system connects both to the material being supplied.

Know the identity

Connect variety or line, source, generation where relevant, and multiplication history to a clear lot identifier. Keep material and records aligned through handling and movement.

Understand the evidence

Link germination, physical purity and other appropriate results to the sampled lot and test date. Consider storage and handling history when reviewing planting readiness.

Preserve the chain of custody

Connect lot labels, quantities, transfers, storage and dispatch documentation. Clear records support commercial confidence and investigation when questions arise.

Testing is undertaken through relevant providers. Certification decisions and official documents remain with the authorised scheme or body.

CROPS & VARIETIES

Planting seed for the intended crop and end use

Industrial hemp planting seeds

Discuss planting seed requirements for grain, fibre, biomass, dual-purpose production or an agreed seed multiplication program.

Explore HEMPGenTech’s HORIZON (HGT1), HARVEST (HGT2h), HOMA, HARMONEY, HASTI, HARIR and HALEH profiles, with variety-specific latitude guidance for grain and biomass or fibre production.

Explore hemp varieties & adaptability

Sesame planting seeds

Discuss sesame planting seed, variety requirements, production location, sowing window and proposed planting area.

Seed planning connects with Sesame Australia’s work in crop genetics, evaluation and production systems. The intended grain market and production environment help frame the enquiry.

Explore Sesame Australia

Other emerging crops. Enquiries are reviewed where HGT has an appropriate genetics, seed or commercial pathway. Tell us the crop and purpose so we can assess the fit.

Planting seed and harvested products

Planting seeds establish the crop. Harvested grains, oils, fibre and biomass enter separate supply pathways. For hemp stems, these products may include bast fibre from the outer bark and hurd from the woody inner core. Discuss harvested crop products with HGT Crop Supply.

COMMERCIAL SEED SUPPORT

From enquiry to a traceable supply pathway

A reliable planting-seed program connects variety, seed lot, multiplication, quality information, documentation, timing and destination requirements.

Define the program

Confirm crop, variety or trait requirements, intended use, location, planting area, sowing window and target quantity.

Plan supply

Review available seed, multiplication requirements, timing, chain of custody and the responsibilities of each participant.

Align quality

Identify germination, physical purity, varietal identity and other testing requirements for the crop and intended market.

Prepare documentation

Review the applicable licences, declarations, permits, labels, phytosanitary documents and certification pathway.

Seed services FAQs

Does HGT Seed Services issue seed certification?

No. HGT Seed Services can support planning, records and coordination for an applicable certification pathway, but certification decisions and official documents are issued by the relevant authorised scheme or body.

What does seed quality assurance support include?

Depending on the crop and transaction, support may include seed-lot identification, sampling and testing coordination, review of germination and purity information, traceability records, packaging requirements and documentation planning.

Can HGT Seed Services arrange seed multiplication?

Multiplication enquiries can be assessed against crop, variety, location, isolation, timing, quantity, quality and commercial requirements. Acceptance is not automatic and depends on the feasibility of an agreed program.

Which crops are supported?

The current focus includes industrial hemp, sesame and selected emerging crops where HGT has an appropriate genetics, seed or commercial pathway. Enquiries outside the current focus are reviewed case by case.

Can seed be supplied internationally?

International opportunities are assessed subject to commercial agreements, seed availability, export and import permits, phytosanitary requirements, local regulations and the responsibilities of the counterpart and destination authorities.

How early should a seed enquiry be submitted?

As early as practical. Multiplication, testing, documentation, permits and international logistics can require substantial lead time, so the required sowing or delivery date should be included in the first enquiry.
